Hello, dear reader;
I started the week in such an exotic way that I can’t even step into the association premises.
I’ve caught something like a new COVID variant — tissue in hand, runny nose, aching bones, coughing, phlegm… the full package. I’m completely bedridden.
Working? Close to impossible.
I do hope you’re all doing well, though.
I said to myself, “Even if I’m stuck in bed, I’m writing my column. Skipping it this week is not an option.”
No One Left Behind on the Road to Spiel!
Next week, our association member Uğur Nakas is heading to Spiel Essen!
We’ve arranged meetings with many major publishers, associations, and teams at Spiel.
Our goal is clear: to bring Sığınak Association into the circle of international communities.
One of the biggest benefits of this will be this:
we’ll be able to design events simultaneously with the rest of the world.
These connections will also be incredibly valuable for the card and board game projects of İsmail Yüksel and Hasan Ali Hatipoğlu within our association.
Together, we’ll experience what a different vision can bring to game developers and board game enthusiasts in Türkiye.
(sorry—another coughing fit…)
Sığınakta Yeni Salgın: Kill Team
Sığınak’ta son dönemde yeni bir salgın başladı.
Ama bu bir sağlık sorunu değil…
A New Outbreak at Sığınak: Kill Team
A new outbreak has started at Sığınak recently.
But don’t worry—this one isn’t a health issue…
It’s the Warhammer 40K: Kill Team outbreak!
At first, everyone had the same intention: painting miniatures.
But things escalated quickly—Warhammer 40K: Kill Team spread like an actual disease.
Even my most resistant friends eventually said, “Alright, fine… I’m in.”
Right now, everyone is frantically priming, painting, and drying minis.
There are almost no unpainted figures left—honestly, we’re close to a brush shortage.
Just now, another tissue sacrificed itself to wipe my enormous nose…
and vanished heroically in the process.
Damn this illness.
The Fair Folk Have Taken Over the TTRPGs Too
We talked about Spiel, we wrote about Warhammer…
Oh! By the way, last week we ran a One-Shot TTRPG session—and it went wonderfully!
On a night when 20 people were playing TTRPGs simultaneously, fairies practically took over the association.
Our dragon Signar is very pleased with this situation.
“Do events like this every month,” he says.
Honestly, if things line up, we’re thinking the same.
Our community keeps growing day by day.
The 5th Room and Future Plans
I heard from Mert abi that he has some wild ideas about our 5th room, the Management Office.
I won’t give details—let it be a surprise.
But if anything happens to that room… I’ll tell you all about it in future columns.
Final Words: Tissues Are Heroes, Sığınak Is Warm
I don’t have much energy for storytelling today, dear reader—writing while sick, I’ve done what I can.
You’ll have to forgive me.
The weather in Ankara has gotten seriously cold—everything’s frozen solid.
But we have our warm, cozy Sığınak.
It’s such a beautiful feeling, hard to put into words.
Even though I’m sick, next week I’ll be settling back into my chair
and finally getting to the TTRPG sessions and Warhammer matches I’ve postponed.
By the way…
I haven’t asked for several columns now—how are you doing?
You’re okay, right?
Even if you’re feeling down, forget it for a moment — I’m glad you exist.
I’m off now; I need to rest a bit.
Take care of yourself—and don’t get sick.
