Spiel Essen, Trade Fairs — Who Do We Think We Are, Anyway?

Hello, dear reader,

We’ve been a bit late with our usual banter this week. You know how it is — a tough week, an exhausting agenda, and we’re all trying to hold on to the universe somehow. Last week, we sent Uğur to Spiel Essen. And some people said: “Who the hell do you think you are?”

Spiel Mpiel — What’s That Supposed to Mean?

This was probably the strangest sentence I heard all week. Seeing people react with surprise to us sending a representative to Spiel as Sığınak Association made me feel both happy and sad. I’m not sure whether this is one of the mind games of human nature or just a generally internalized paradox, but the absence of support can pull a person into as many illusions as its presence.

So, where do you stand in this story, dear reader?

We’re thrilled to have spoken with many organizations, including:

  • Hegemonic Project Games

  • Spiel des Jahres

  • UK Games Expo

  • Spieleautorenzunft

Beyond our scheduled meetings, we also took part in many spontaneous encounters. For us, this was an incredible opportunity. You can check out the photos on Instagram.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Is a Huge Disappointment…

For me, the biggest disappointment of the week has to be Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. You wait for years and years… and then you’re greeted with a strange, indefinable game.
After the first Bloodlines, how could this be the outcome?

I mean, seriously — I waited all these years to write a proper review of this game. Now the only thing I can say is: how did White Wolf ever approve this storyline?

They raised expectations so high that I was expecting a far more complex narrative. If you want to explore concepts like Sheriff vs. blah blah, there are much better ways to do it.
Secondly, the game doesn’t run stably on any platform other than consoles at the moment, which is another letdown. On Xbox, though — works like a charm!

Well… graphics, narrative, disciplines — how old are these vampires, anyway? The whole thin-blood thing completely threw me off. I wish we were playing a noir scenario under the influence of Dementation, so I wouldn’t have to write this today…

(Maybe I’ll write a detailed review of the game here later — time flies…)

So, what about you? How are things? Everyone doing okay?

We’re Closely Watching the Trench Crusade Releases

Warhammer 40K – Kill Team has officially started being played at Sığınak. A very welcome development — we used to wonder whether our members would enjoy it. Judging by our “family ties” with Pegasus Oyuncak, there’s an overwhelming wave of enthusiasm.

I’ve also been reading community posts about Trench Crusade from time to time. Because of this, we’ve established a Miniatures and Wargames Committee within the association. If we ever get a 3D printer company as a sponsor for Trench Crusade… well, why not?

And honestly, you should see the determination around strategy and war games — battles twice a week! Mert Ataman (aka Mito) is absolutely tearing it up. Someone really needs to stop this guy!

Shall we call it a wrap for this week?
I promise, next week I’ll make it up to you with an incredibly fun piece.

Kisses, hugs, bye-bye 😄
